Prof. Dr. Joep Knol is an abdominal surgeon, who performs most of the operations in the abdomen but is most specialized in surgery of the rectum and colon.

Although he operates on a daily base in the ZOL hospital in Genk and Maaseik.

He is also appointed as a clinical professor at the UHasselt.

As a passionated presenter at several surgical conferences and as co-founder of the iLappSurgery Foundation he tries to contribute to better teaching of other surgeons.
